A BIT ABOUT JADE GILLIES
Jade has had a colourful career in the Broadcasting, Events and Entertainment industries. His first television position was as a volunteer boom microphone operator in regional TV, but he quickly worked his way up the ranks to be a Producer and Executive Producer of a range of programmes by the age of 21. His event work began in 2003 when he managed a sell-out concert starring classical singer Hayley Westenra. Since then, Jade has been instrumental in coordinating some of southern NZ’s biggest events including the Burt Munro Challenge and A Taste of Southland, a festival to welcome Rugby World Cup visitors in 2011. As an actor, writer and director, Jade is involved in several theatre groups as well as running a drama academy for young performers. He has performed in over 30 productions since finishing high school in 1999.
